SRS has some new features that provide easy integration facility between SRS reports and Microsoft SharePoint Server. Microsoft SharePoint Server can be used by any level of organization employees to connect to corporate business intelligence (BI) data store to view reports and take daily business decision. Microsoft SharePoint Server integration aims at providing low cost high return on investment (ROI) by eliminating usage of expensive business intelligence tool such as Business Objects or SAS.

Reporting Services and SharePoint Server

SQL Server Service provides seamless integration between SRS and Microsoft SharePoint technologies. End users can view and manage reports from within a SharePoint document library using this integration facility. It provides an option to store SRS reports within a SharePoint Server, which is called as "SharePoint Integration Mode" vs. storing within reporting database, which is called as "Native Mode". Using integrated mode, user can manage report parameters, processing options and report history from within SharePoint document library.
